Words make sense of the world.

I’ve always thought so and became a journalist to make more sense of the world. Back when most kinds of journalism still brought meaning and purpose to both the reader and writer.

Then, I left journalism to make more sense of the world.

I still believe in the quiet power of words. In a doom-scrolling, filtered, garish world, words are nostalgic. Reading is nostalgic, as is writing.

Versify is an independent publication launched in January 2024. It's my way of creating a real way to connect; to write the essays I love to write; to create a quiet space for me and you to come and read in.

And to occasionally share the pearls of wisdom from my judgey, side-eye dog Mojo Jojo.

Versify is about navigating (read escaping) our noisy virtual world, finding the joy in reading, writing and creating for ourselves again; and perhaps forming some real connections.
